In 2019, the UK was the first major economy in the world to pass laws to reduce emissions and become Net Zero by 2050, changing from a previous law of reducing emissions by at least 80%.

Standards.

PAS 2060 is an internationally recognised standard which sets out the requirements needed to achieve a carbon-neutral footprint. 

  • Details that are to be considered include:  
  • A time scale,  
  • Specific targets for reductions,  
  • How these targets will be achieved  
  • How residual emissions will be offset. 

To qualify for the PAS 2060, results are required to be publicly disclosed along with the supporting documents and statements. It also requires third-party audits and further independent validations by UKAS registered agents. 

ISO 14064 Internationally recognised to specify the guiding principles and requirements on how to quantify and report greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and removals.

It includes requirements for the design, development, management, reporting and verification of an organization’s GHG inventory.
